[texpoint-users] Some characters not displaying: lcmss8 font problem?

This is a Latex problem, not a TexPoint problem. The "slides" mode uses
different fonts than the "article" mode, and these fonts do not have all the
characters.
If you use the latest version with the EMF options you will see that even
the article mode displays very smoothly. But you'd have to pay the license
after 30 days to use that mode.
George.

Subject: [texpoint-users] Some characters not displaying: lcmss8 font
problem?
Since upgrading to MikTeX 2.5, TexPoint has stopped displaying all
numbers and certain characters in display mode.
I am using TexPoint version 2.0.3 for Office XP (Powerpoint 2002), which
I have been successfully using with MikTeX 2.4 for a number of years. I
recently updated MikTeX via the package manager, and since then TexPoint
will no longer display any numbers or numerous other characters (e.g.
brackets, equals sign) in display mode. A re-installation failed to
correct the problem, as did installing the latest version (3.0.1).
As an example of what works and what doesn't, the bitmap of test.tex
does not include the 0 or 1 subscripts, or the capital Gamma, leaving
blank spaces in their place. The output code from running tex2bmp at the
command prompt is pasted below. If I change the document class to
'article' everything works fine, but this isn't really ideal as the
fonts don't display as smoothly when magnified.
Thanks for any help with this.
