[texpoint-users] Texpoint configuration

TexPoint texpoint at necula.org

Hi,

You can see from the texpoint output that the PATH does not include GS. If
you have changed it indeed, then you need to restart Powerpoint for the new
PATH to be read. All applications in Windows use the environment at
application start time.

Subject: [texpoint-users] Texpoint configuration

Hi
Well, here's my problem. I went through your website's instructions for
installation. I found that it needs MikTex and Ghostscript. Well, I already
had Latex and checked the version command and it worked but mistakenly I
thought that Ghostscript is not needed (but it was actually Ghostview that
you had mentioned that is not necessary). Now you can guess what happened.
I checked Texpoint/configure/information and certainly it failed running
"gswin32c.exe." Well, my next move was downloading AFPL 853 version of
Ghostscript as recommended. I installed it and I then opened control
panel/system/Advanced/enviroment variables and I added the directory path of
Ghostscript to PATH. Later, I checked gswin32c -version at command line and
it worked well. I opened Powerpoint and I tried to add a display mode
equation and it failed with the same message that Ghostscript returned
error. I checked Texpoint/configure/information and it was still showing
that I do not have Ghostscript directory added to PATH. I tried Reset
Texpoint in my Office 2007 panel. It did not change anything. I tried
pressing "Reinitialize" on configure window and it also did not do any
change. I am pasting the information in the following. I would be very
grateful if anybody could help me make display mode work.
Oh, I just remembered another issue. I would be very happy if you could help
me with this, too. Here is the problem. When I try the inline equation and I
press "Texify" button it texifies the equation BUT it uses the same font I
am using for text, which is Arial in most of the cases. Well, I really like
it with nice Latex font. How can I do this?
Thank you in advance,
Regards,
Kiarash,
P.S.: I would be very grateful if you could take a second look at the
information and let me know if anything else is wrong, so that I can fix it
as soon as possible. You know, I really appreciate if can be done very soon.

If all external commands are OK, TexPoint is fully functional. In case a
'FAILED' is shown, some features will not work. You may want to install the
indicated software and/or check the global (on Mac: the bash) path
configuration. Please also check the manual for details.
