[texpoint-users] inline math fonts

Dear TexPoint users,

I'm new to TexPoint and a little naive about fonts. I'm able to use
PowerPoint with TexPoint on my Mac (OS X 10.4), and I almost get the
results I want. For displayed math, I'm using the slides document
class, because I quite like the font it uses, greek letters in
particular. However, inline mode uses a different font. My inline
beta, for example, is chunky and upright, while my displayed beta is
slanted and much sleeker.

I've tried many things. In particular, under "preferences" in the
configuration box, I have checked "Use AMS fonts in inline mode," but
that doesn't do it. This problem appears to be the same one noted by
Rotem on March 20, 2006. George replied that he would put it on the
list of bugs to fix on the next release, but I didn't see any mention
of it in the notes on Version 3.0.1.

Though I don't know much about the technical side of fonts, it's
really important to me that I use consistent notation to refer to the
same object. I assume that others in the TexPoint community feel the
same way. Does anyone have a way to use the font from slides class
in inline mode?

Thanks,

JD
